Who operates this service?

Independent registration operator (configure before launch) operates CDIGOV for: National ID update registration. This is an independent registration service with no claimed affiliation to the Ghanaian government, NIA or NCA. Contact support@cdi.gov about your information.

Information you provide

We store the personal, birth, residential and parental information you choose to enter, and your photograph if uploaded. Only first name(s), surname and your final confirmations are mandatory. Your entered details are automatically saved in a draft after you enter your name. Draft access is bound to this browser session; it cannot be recovered on a different device. We use the information to process and review your registration for the stated purpose.

Your location is optional

We request browser location only after you tick the immediate-storage consent box and click “Share My Current Location”. We show the reported marker, latitude, longitude and accuracy. Only after you confirm the marker do we immediately save the location, accuracy and capture time to your draft. Authorized administrators can see this location before you finish or submit your registration. We record your consent and the version of this notice.

You can decline and complete registration without sharing a location. We do not continuously track you or collect a precise location for page analytics. Reported coordinates are estimates and are not proof of residence. To remove a location already saved in a draft, use “Delete my draft”.

Retention and deletion

Unsubmitted drafts and their photographs, coordinates and consent records expire 7 days after creation. Submitted registrations are retained for 365 days after submission. A scheduled cleanup deletes expired records; access is restricted when the draft expires. Backups must follow the operator’s documented retention and erasure process. You can delete an unsubmitted draft directly from the registration page. Contact the operator to request access, correction, consent withdrawal or deletion after submission.

Protection and access

Personal fields, coordinates and photographs are encrypted at rest. Administrative access requires sign-in and is audited. Only authorized staff can view registration records. Your information is not published or provided through a public location feed. Hosting and storage providers process information on behalf of the operator; the operator must identify its selected providers and any international transfers before launching.

Cookies and visit counts

Essential first-party session cookies support secure forms, draft access and administrator sign-in. The session includes a random anonymous visitor identifier for counting visits and registration activity. We do not store visitor IP addresses or user agents in the analytics database. Anonymous events are retained for 30 days. Page views count individual page loads; unique visitors count distinct browser identifiers and may change if cookies are cleared.

Maps and external assets

After you choose to view a map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap; that provider receives connection information and tile requests for the displayed area. Bootstrap, Bootstrap Icons, Leaflet and Chart.js assets load from public CDNs, which receive normal network connection information. These providers do not receive your registration form values from this application.

Email support@cdi.gov for questions, correction, access or deletion requests. The operator is responsible for reviewing this notice, specifying its lawful processing basis, handling children’s information and third-party parental details, and completing its applicable data protection obligations before accepting live registrations.
